We are happy to celebrate Iris and Bob Jewett of Wilburton Pottery this year. When they moved to Wilburton Hill in Bellevue in 1979, they had dreams of a botanical garden in the park. This idea became reality in 1992 with the opening of the Bellevue Botanical Garden. Come see the amazing botanical tiles from Wilburton Pottery and visit with the Jewett’s, the founders of Bellevue Botanical Garden. 1992 to 2012 – 20 years Bellevue Botanical Garden

Artisan Tile NW is engaged in the creative and historic exploration of handmade tiles and tile installations. Our mission is to promote awareness and appreciation of tiles in a variety of media. Through member-supported publications, exhibitions, shows, sales and conferences we inspire creativity, encourage innovation, and advocate excellence.

The Center for Urban Horticulture, founded in 1983, is now part of the University of Washington Botanic Gardens. It includes a 16-acre landscaped site with buildings and gardens, and the 74-acre Union Bay Natural Area, which provides publicly accessible wildlife habitat (more than 200 bird species have been sighted there) and an outdoor laboratory for UW research.
